Trick-or-Treat...Kitty style!

Happy Halloween! We had such a great time tonight and a care-free day! We spent a lot of our day at the park enjoying the weather. Dustin had a great time trying to figure out the frisbee/golf game going on by us and Camdyn was just enjoying her duck friends.

Camdyn was a kitty! I just loved her little outfit and you will be seeing more of these tights under a cute little dress in the winter time. :) She also left the ears on pretty much the entire time of our outing...that's my girl!!

She has now perfected her wave. It is a perfect little wave now. :)

Tonight we got dressed and headed out into our neighborhood in our new Radio flyer!

We were not sure if Camdyn would sit in it but she was glued to that seat and taking in all of the kids and candy around her!

We then headed to the "extreme decor section" for Halloween a few streets over. You would not believe it! I tried to get some pictures but they just don't do it justice. A house that we went by had a movie playing on a blow up screen...very unique! Camdyn was such a sweet kitty today and she really enjoyed her Halloween. She got to see her cousin Macey, both of her grandparents and of course us, so she had a complete night. We let her enjoy a few twizzlers that were in her Hello Kitty bucket and a rice-krispy treat! Every house we went up to Camdyn was very polite and waved and said bye after each piece of candy. You were definitely the prettiest kitty on the block and mommy got a hundred pictures to prove that!

(After I got dressed, Daddy said that I was going dressed up as a zebra...thanks Dustin)

Here is one of the houses that we pass by a lot after school on our walks. She would always wave to this naughty looking cat during the day but tonight Camdyn just stared at him. Hmmm...wonder why?!

Here is only a little glimpse into the awesome displays that we saw. The far right has the movie screen...so much fun!

Here Mace and Camdyn met up to do a little talking about what kind of candy that had just eaten!

Stopping to take a picture with her Gran and Grandad

Yummy candy!

As always, I love to compare each year to the previous one. Here is my super sweet strawberry from last year.

A little comparison!

Many people ask me if Camdyn looks more like me or Dustin when we were little and some are quick to say that she looks just like me or her daddy so....I decided to have a little fun and dig up some pictures of me around Camdyn's age. We had a ton when I was around 3 + or a baby but not many at the age of Camdyn right now.

When I was younger I would always look back at my baby pictures of me and my sisters growing up. It's so neat now to see pictures of your own daughter and see herself in the memories of the pictures that I used to stare at all the time. You can definitely see some resemblances between her and I. I think she is a lot prettier though if you ask me and she definitely has a nicer shade of hair color and complexion thanks to her daddy! Here are a few :)

Happy early Halloween! Hopefully my next posting will involve a sweet little kitty all dressed up!

Making our own sunshine!

Well we decided to take a family day on Monday("Pink AND Blue day"...had to add the blue for daddy!) and it was a good thing because Camdyn had just got over a little bug and now I have a big bug...the flu (hence why I am at home all alone right now...tear) I am not one to talk about the negative things on this blog since it will eventually be a book for Camdyn of good memories so I will now change the subject! :) Camdyn that is why I did not do a blog posting about your leg getting stuck in the rails of your bed and us having to call 911...we can NOW finally talk about that!

Unfortunately it was raining and very cold on Monday so our plans of going to the pumpkin patch had to get pushed back until our Thanksgiving break. Dustin and I then tossed back and forth ideas of what Camdyn would like to do and then we decided to take her to a little play center that she loved. It was right up there in her "interests" category...climbing! She got to climb and play and she had the best little time. I was afraid I was going to have to pry her off of the bridge when it was time to leave but no...she told me she was ready to go by running out of the area and to her stroller. We then ate dinner at Corner Bakery and Dustin bought Cam an oatmeal cookie and she highly enjoyed it.

I loved the way that all of the safari animals and bridge were silky smooth and shiny!
Here Camdyn is petting the enormous zebra

Love this little face!

That morning Camdyn and I decided to make a craft together with things we had at home (the 2nd grade teacher in me had to make her an example to look at!). I made play dough and we made some very scary ghosts!

Cam copying my example :)

She then climbed into her highchair to finish it off

There he is! Isn't he soooo scary! I obviously added the eyes and mouth but Camdyn did the hair on top of his head all by herself! :)

What a great pair! (Don't you laugh...I know they look like blobs)

School Carnival 2009

Camdyn attended her 1st Fall carnival at my wonderful school that I teach at! I deeply love my school and my team!! (giving a shout-out to Ashley and Rachel) :) and our school always seems to go all out on events! I was so happy to be able to have Camdyn here this year with us and Dustin also had a booth set up with all of his baseball players doing a radar throw. Cam got to enjoy looking at tons of bounce houses, cotton candy, kettle corn, kids and my teacher friends, running around and playing, dunking booth, balloons, the base of a hot air balloon (too windy to go up but there was a nice fire show!). The only part she did not enjoy was the chick-fil-a cow. Her whole body shook while her legs wrapped around me when he came closer to her. Great....I'm sure Santa will be a hit this year! :) Camdyn also got to see her precious baby Kate! Her and Kate were dressed very similar in their polka-dots and I will load that on here when I get it from Miss Ashley. We had such a great time and we can't wait until the next carnival!

I love this picture of Camdyn and Rachel. Rachel is one of the girls I have taught with since our school opened and she has been so good to Camdyn and has watched her grow up. Camdyn Reece is also very honored that she will be a flower girl in Miss Rachel's wedding this Summer! Her first wedding as a flower girl!!!

Running and playing!
Ha!

Here Camdyn is texting Aunt Tay Tay :)

Camdyn turned 18 months yesterday! That means that she is 1 1/2 years old! I am working on a little posting for this but I have been busy busy so I hope to be finished with it soon. We had our family pictures today and I think our photographer got some great shots of sister even though she woke up with a runny little nose! I hope to be able to give you a sneak when they are ready.
I now leave you with Camdyn and her best friend Elmo going for a spin!

S'mores and joy!

Oh how this weekend was fabulous! I felt like we were able to enjoy our little family while being productive as well...don't you just love weekends when you have nothing to do or commitments to make?!

I think we are going to have more Saturdays where we just stay at home at night instead of fighting crowds and little hands trying to eat off of our plates the whole time! ha! We decided to stay home and cook out and my most favorite thing, S'MORES!! I have been craving these for a very long time now...months! Unfortunately we did not get to make these over a campfire :) but instead we made them "Toth style" over our grill!

(Daddy being the big brave one to try it first!...notice those grubby hands trying to turn up the temp!)

This was actually a suggestion on the graham cracker box! They were heaven and Camdyn agreed. She got her first taste of real chocolate and highly enjoyed every bit that I would allow her little mouth to devour! We have tons of chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows left and that only means one thing...more s'mores for us!

*Her "Bobby" (yes that is his new name that she calls him) is waiting for his bite. He follows her around the house when she has food and he takes it from her hands all the time!

Sunday we went to church and Camdyn had an unusual time in the nursery! When we came to get her after church she had nothing but her onesie, (no tutu, no pants, no bow and no shoes) and she looked like a little bum! Not only that but she ran from us when we came to get her! She must have had a wonderful time in the nursery and we were so happy for her. She then proceeded to run to the play ground and this little girl is fearless. She runs up the steps and slides as fast as her body will let her go down the slide. Fun little thing! We also heard a great message at church about the 5 blessings that need to take part within your family first and then work their way out into the friends and the community. They gave us a gold coin with the blessings engraved on them and a sweet scripture...love our church!

Last is the final part of this posting titled Joy!

This little girl brings me so much joy (and the back of her shirt as well ;) )
But I wanted to share her dear excitement and joy from tonight. She got so much joy from her turning on her d.v.d player and being able to see her Baby Einstein video (something familiar and comforting that she has loved since she was 4 months). Cam also will do this sweet reaction to certain things that I say that she finds joy in. Dustin got me a devotional for mothers a while back called "Soul Matters ~for Mothers" and it has so many great inspirations for moms inside of it. Here is a small part that I read a while back that really makes you sit back and think.
One of the greatest challenges of parenting today is passing on a spirit of wonder
and appreciation to your children. The only way to share it is to spend time with
your kids and to model awe, reverence, and JOY of just how special life is.
I hope to show my children how to appreciate the small things so that she can find joy in everything that god has given her. Seeing the excitement and joy in your child can make your life seem so meaningful! Yes I got a little deep tonight!

and just for a little humor on how they pick up things they see go on around them...here is the little girl in action turning on her d.v.d
