Off the chart

So today we went in for Camdyn's 4 month checkup even though we are a week late...oops! Well first of all we got her changed down to her diaper and then sat her up on the table that they do the checkup on. As most of you know they have a roll of paper for sanitary reasons on the table. The paper ended up serving no purpose because our little explorer grabbed the WHOLE sheet with her hands and feet and scooted the entire paper between her legs. When Dr. Heiber walked in it was all jumbled up between her legs and he knew then that yes, she has been developing and using her grasping skills! Anyways, back to the reason I titled this blog "off the chart"...The nurse ended up measuring her and she is still in the 95th percentile for height. She is a little over 26 inches tall...that's over 2 ft tall...WOW!! Then came the weight...We put our butterball on the scale and she is 18.2 pds! Dustin and I had bets on her weight on the drive up there but we were about a pound off. Seriously, she really does not eat that much...promise! Now came the time that the nurse wanted to graph it on paper to find the percentile for her weight. I saw her pen keep going towards the right and it kept going...yes, her poor little weight was un-graphable! She is off the chart! Oh well, just like the nurse said...we have a healthy, growing "fluffy" little baby girl. Her wonderful pediatrician said that she is growing great and that she sure is a friendly little thing!

Giggles

Camdyn has started to laugh out loud and it is the most precious sound ever! I got home today and had her on her changing table and I made my usual crazy noises (pig noise that is!) I would do it on her tummy and she would laugh almost every time. Nothing is better than her smile and now a laugh to go along with it!!!

Sleeping beauty

The mornings are such a wonderful time for Dustin and I to see Camdyn peacefully sleeping in her bed. Dustin came in this morning and said to go look at our "angel". She is indeed that...this is literally how she is sleeping every morning when I wake up to see her. She is such a sweet little girl.

And the bubbles continue...

Every morning we put Camdyn in her bed when she wakes up for her to listen and look at her aquarium. Well this morning I was working on some school stuff and I could hear her making her usual "bubble/car" sound. Sometimes I think that she forgets how to do it but then she will shock me and do it all day! I just don't want her to be 5 years old and still blowing bubbles! ha! Oh well, I still find enjoyment from listening to my little car....

4 months!

Camdyn is 4 months today! I cannot believe how time has flown by so quickly. 3 months up until now has been a big change. Camdyn is doing so many new things and she surprises us everyday. For everyone who doesn't get to see her much, here are some new discoveries!
*Holds her bottle and spoon when trying to eat!
*Laughs out loud
*Smiles all the time
*Rolls over all the time...I cannot keep this child on her back!
*Grabs everything that is in front of her, including her sitter's glasses off of her face, oops :)
*Loves to stand
*She is trying so hard to crawl and sit up.
*Enjoying her cereal now...finally!
*No more boboos in the middle of the night!
*Loves to grab her toes
*Wakes up every morning sleeping on her stomach...scares me to death though!

Dustin and I just can't get enough of her!

Camdyn's first day of "school"

Okay, so it wasn't her first day of school, it was actually her first official day at the sitters on Monday! We had to wake her up in the morning to head out for the day and she was all smiles. She had a fabulous day and has been such a great baby everyday...per Miss Sherry :) She is such a big girl and I can't wait to get my hands and lips on her when my day is over!

I have also been fine (except the first day) when I leave her. This is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Every morning when I bring her in she is smiling at Sherry and then when I pick her up she is still smiling. I feel at ease knowing that she is in good hands. This week has really been a great week for me and I am so excited to get this year started!
Look at those little morning eyes!

Bittersweet

As hard as it is for me to leave Camdyn, I am also looking forward to the new challenges and 21 new babies that I will be able to teach and care for. After looking at my class list for this year, I do believe that this is what I'm supposed to do. Camdyn will be only be a hop, skip and a jump away and I will get her at 2:30 when school lets out and we will spend the rest of our day together. I have trust in her sitter and the little boy that she will be staying with is such a sweet boy that she will be able to grow up with.

I feel blessed to have been able to spend 4 months with her and now I am able to return to to what I love to do.

It's crazy to think back to how quickly 4 months have passed. I can remember so clearly seeing them bring her into my room (after recovering forever in the recovery room) and seeing her beautiful face and perfect little body. I will also never forget the noise of her sucking on her two middle fingers. She was such a hungry girl. When your pregnant you just have so many hopes that this baby will turn out to be healthy and that you will be able to protect it. I never imagined that she would be so perfect. We love Camdyn more than anything in this world and we have enjoyed every minute that we have been able to spend with her this summer.
This picture of us in the hospital will always bring back so many memories

Big Bow Shoes!

Before Camdyn was born I bought these precious shoes for her that had BIG, HUGE, GIGANTIC bows on them that I couldn't wait for her to get to wear. Well everyone who knows me so well, knows that I had to have a matching bow so I "recycled" and made her a bow from the ribbon that was attached to the case that her shoes came in. I just decided to make her an outfit that would match them and she is just now getting to wear her new tootsies! The bad thing about it is that now she can reach out and grab things! The entire night while eating dinner she stared at her shoes and kept undoing her bows after I would tie them back... Yes, the ENTIRE night. Poor thing would not take her eyes off of them. I guess she enjoyed those bright colored things that were gleaming at her.
I thought she looked adorable but Dustin thought she looked liked she had a costume on. He kept telling her before we left the house..."Camdyn, just know that Dad did not dress you." Oh well, she had her entertainment for the night, attached to her feet!
See, she enjoys her outfit!

Upclose...

Brother and Sister...aka/Bozley and Camdyn

So I have been gathering pictures since Camdyn was born to add to her scrap book showing how Bozley wants to be around Camdyn EVERY minute. Before having her we worried how he would react to her when she was brought into our lives and if he would be scared of her. Well, he proved us wrong...he adores her! Every room she is in, he is right there. Every spot she is in, he tries his hardest to be beside her. He always manages to sneak his way into each picture. It's almost like playing "Where's Waldo/Bozley". I can't wait to see them together when she becomes more mobile.

He snuck his paws in this one!

He had actually climbed up on the couch to be beside her!

It's official....

Camdyn is growing up and I am not able to stop her. :( Over the weekend she started doing so many new things that shocked me. Yes, I am happy that she is developing but part of me is sad to see her grow up! She learned the concept of "grasping" things and now she does it allllll the time. I guess all of my hard work in the bathtub playing "get your turtle" with her, paid off! Camdyn has been trying to hold her bottles, putting her pacifier in her mouth, grabbing books when I am reading them to her, trying to sit up and turning a 360 while in her pack-n-play! In the video below you will see her trying to hold her bottle on her own...I promise she wasn't starving, this was her second serving! I also took random pictures this week and some make me laugh. Enjoy!!

Am I supposed to seriously eat this stuff?!

I feel like that's a question that Camdyn is trying to ask me everytime she eats rice cereal! The pediatrician told us to go ahead and start on rice cereal since Camdyn has been needing more calories in the night and that's why she has reverted back to waking up more often. Well we tried it and she was not too happy with me feeding her this stuff. We tried again last night and she stuck that bottom lip out and started crying. I almost feel sorry that I am giving it to her! Dustin said we should put some sugar and butter in it (ha!)...hopefully she will learn how to enjoy it.

My little jumperoo!

Wow, I am doing so good on keeping up with these posts even though I started this one a few days ago and am just now uploading the video! I know when school starts it will lessen with teaching and cheerleading :( Many of you have expressed how much you enjoy seeing Cam so I am trying to be diligent on posting her growth!

Well as mentioned the other day, Dustin and I bought her a jump and go...one of those jumpers that goes between the doorway. She wasn't too sure of why she could actually stand on her own without one of us holding her but she enjoyed it very much. Camdyn pretty much just swings around in it and when she gets excited she might jump once! She was using her hands to move all of the toys on it so that it would light up. It is hilarious to see a baby try to move things...it just takes everything she has to move it! She has been doing this to my face as well. She tries to feel my nose and she ends up slapping my face most of the time just trying to get my nose. She amazes us more every day!

My Backseat Buddy!

Today Dustin and I decided that it was time to buy all of Camdyn's new things to take to the babysitter. To make our life easier (not exactly our bank account though!) we decided to buy double of everything to avoid us leaving something there and needing it at home. We headed to Babies R Us and we had a great time buying stuff and finding new things that we thought Camdyn would enjoy :) My most favorite thing was her "jump and go", yes she is only 3 1/2 months but the little thing just wants to stand ALL the time so we thought she might enjoy it. That will be a new post for tomorrow...it's pretty funny with her in it for the first time. Anyways, while we were driving home and on our way to eat Thai, I rode in the backseat with Cam and waited with her while Dustin went to Academy to get a new watch. While I was back there Camdyn was as usual, making me laugh and I decided to record her. She is still unsure about her paci...she sometimes confuses her fingers with it. The other video is not too exciting but I had to post it for you to hear her loud scream! ha! After leaving Academy I ran into Joanne's Fabric and bought some ruffles to add to Camdyn's two outfits that I am making. I always get these crazy ideas to make these things for her. They turned out pretty cute though! We had a great time and really enjoyed our day together.

Are my fingers my paci?Hmmmmm

Happy baby

This has to be one of my most favorite pictures of her!

Weekend...What weekend?

It's amazing how fast the weekends fly by! We really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Fridays are our "Dustin, Taren and Cam nights" where we always make an attempt to go out to dinner or shopping as a family. This night we went to eat a yummy dinner at Olive Garden and then we went to Fire Wheel and I managed to sneak in a new pair of shoes (like I really needed any) and of course searched for Camdyn some things. We ran to Barnes and Noble (my new favorite store) and left with 3 new books for Camdyn and one for a book exchange. The special thing about our new books is that I have absolutely loved a book called "Princess Baby" that I came across when Camdyn was born and it has reminded me of her ever since. When I came upon it, I hurried and bought it because it reminds me so much of what Camdyn will be like in the future. I even took a picture of her and her new special book!

I love my new book!!!

Mommy and Camdyn

Saturday my entire family met up together at the Harbor for dinner, a stop by the chocolate factory and a sit by the lake. We had a very enjoyable evening and Camdyn and Macey were great under the circumstances that it was hot as can be...that's what we get for living in Texas hugh?! Camdyn wore her precious hat that I spruced up by adding a huge bow to it (what's new!). Aunt Tay was laughing at how it kept falling over her eyes and Aunt Issa just felt sorry for her that she was wearing it in the heat so we took it off for a while :)

At the end of the night we came to a conclusion that we were all (13 of us) going to get a house next summer and spend our vacation together. We are very lucky to all have one another!
